Whit’s Nursery

It’s been several months since I published a blog post, and I’m so excited to get back to it! I have plenty that I want to catch you up on as far as the end of my pregnancy, things we registered for, packing my hospital bag, and Whit’s birth story.

But, I couldn’t go any longer without sharing the details of my new favorite room in our house – Whit’s nursery! I had so much fun bringing my vision to life, and am so thankful for all of Rudd’s hard work helping me pull it together. I knew I wanted to create something that could work for any future children as well, boy or girl!

I really used this Noah’s Ark artwork that hangs above the crib to guide most of my design. I think it’s so pretty in the gold frame and know it’s a piece I’ll keep forever!

We chose the Davinci Jenny Lind crib, and I’m so happy with it! So classic. It also converts into a toddler bed with a half rail, or you can just take it completely off! For the crib skirt and the drapes, I’ve always loved this stripes and vines fabric. I ordered some samples, and ended up picking the soft blues and greens colorway in the lightweight cotton twill fabric. My mom and I sewed the skirt and drapes, and used these pinch pleat hooks to hang the drapes with these rings and this curtain rod. There are several shops on Etsy that sell curtains and crib skirts with the same fabric!

His bassinet is a family heirloom and was slept in by my grandmother, mother, uncles, cousins, and siblings! Now it’s on to the next generation and is so special to me. The “Whit” name banner is from Little Happies!

The dresser, mirror, and pair of white side tables are all Facebook Marketplace finds. I found these baskets underneath the side tables that were the perfect size, and the price is pretty perfect, too. The lamps were a HomeGoods purchase, but I found some very similar ones here (and honestly like the tapered shades better!) The ivory rug was my final purchase for the room, and I’m really happy with how the lattice design pulls everything together and makes the room feel so cozy.

Believe it or not, I got the scalloped floating shelves for $10 a piece at Dollar General 🤣 and we painted them white! These are very similar on Amazon!

The rocking chair was in Rudd’s nursery as a child, and the “Whit” appliqué pillow was a shower gift from my mom, as was the blue ruffled blanket on the crib! Both of those are from Scarlet Designs. I also found the blue gingham chair cushion on Etsy, and the seller was so easy to work with on custom dimensions. I’m so excited about this monogrammed baby book my sister gave me for Christmas and can’t wait to get started on it – it’s so pretty to look at!

Anything I’m missing? Leave me a comment or send me a message on Instagram! Thank y’all so much for all of your well wishes – I can’t believe Whit is already 3 weeks old and I can’t wait to share so much more with you!!

Happy shopping!
