I’m so excited to say that I finally said #yestothedress last Saturday! I ended up finding my wedding dress the same place my sister did for her wedding in 2017 – Evelyn’s Bridal! It’s the most fun, down-to-earth bridal salon just outside of Columbia, SC. I brought both my mom and my sister along with me – our experience shopping there was just the best and I wish I could do it over and over again! I’m also getting my bridesmaid dresses from Evelyn’s, so I love that everything is all in one place. A few of the pictures in this post are also from New York Bride & Groom, another salon in the Columbia area where I tried some dresses on.

I went into the process thinking I wanted a certain type of style, but as it turns out, I ended up choosing the exact opposite of what I thought I would! I’m known to be a little indecisive sometimes, so this was a pretty big task for me. I knew that my dress was “the one” because even after trying on a handful of more dresses, it still put the biggest smile on my face every time I tried it back on!
My biggest advice for wedding dress shopping would be to go into it with a very open mind. Have a few words in your head about how you want to look on your day (AKA, “timeless,” “classic,” “modern,” etc.) and the rest will fall into place. My next piece of advice is to ask your local married friends about their shopping experience at different salons! Alterations are a huge part of wedding dress shopping that some people don’t think about – make sure that you know your salon will take care of you from start to finish!
