Life Lately // 3

Life lately has looked a lot like resting after the rush of the holidays, trying to get myself and our home re-set for the new year, helping my sister and brother-in-law with their nursery, and planning a baby shower for them!

To be honest, I get very excited to start fresh at the beginning of a new year, but can also get a bit overwhelmed at how much I want to accomplish. It’s definitely a mix of feelings for me, but I’m choosing to cling to these verses in 2023:

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.'”

Jeremiah 29:11-13

LOL. Our only photo together from NYE. We went out to a nice dinner, and were back home on the couch (pictured here) by 9:30pm with champagne in hand. The coziest and best start to the new year with my #1!

Next up, my new sofa table and lamps! My parents gave us both for Christmas, which was so sweet. I’ve wanted a sofa table behind this loveseat for a little while, and I think it’s turning out perfectly! The pink bowl is also one of my favorite Home Goods finds EVER! And everything is of course, Fern approved 😉

I’m also very happy with my new little rosemary plant on our screened porch to add a little touch of green during these cold months! Any tips on caring for it? Let me know – I’ve heard water from the bottom!

Next: a very special project, and sneak peek of us helping my sister and brother-in-law with their nursery! Their baby boy is due in March, and Rudd installed the wainscoting in his sweet room. So many perks of having a contractor husband! This is of course an in-progress picture. Paint is in the works, and I’m actually over at my sister’s house today while she and my mom work on some wallpaper in the nursery bathroom. Can’t wait to share more!

And on that note, my mom and I are hosting a baby shower for my sister at my house this weekend, and I could not be more excited to share everything! This is going to be my outfit – everything on the Olivia James website is still 70% off! These are my picks.

The planner I’m using for 2023 – my first time with this one! I love that you can see your entire week at once in the daily sections. I’ve decided that works better for me, instead of having an entire page dedicated to each day! Now to sit down and fill out all of the important birthdays, events, and dates – a task I actually love!!

I just got in this adorable utensil crock for my wooden kitchen utensils, and love the look. It will work well year-round, throughout the seasons! Linking other kitchen details here.

And finally, I leave you with a favorite recipe that I made over the weekend: blueberry pie bars! I discovered this recipe with my mom years ago, and always loved making it for Mother’s Day brunch. They’re just as good as I remember! (I doubled the recipe for a 9×13, and it worked just fine!)

Until next time!
