So if you’ve never heard of SHEIN, sit down and stay awhile because I’ve got some fun things to tell you. If you have heard of SHEIN, how do we pronounce this?? Is it literally She-In? That’s what I always say, but my mom calls it “Shine” so now we joking call it that (lol).
They basically have every possible style of clothing you could imagine and most things (even dresses) are under $20, usually even under $10. To those of you who have never shopped there before, I know this sounds like a scam – and yes, the clothes are probably made in China, but you really can’t beat a cute $8 dollar shirt, right??
Since I started blogging and tagging some of my clothes from SHEIN, I’ve gotten some questions from all of you ranging from sizing to whether or not it’s actually legit. Let’s go over the basics:
Q: Is SHEIN a scam or is it for real?
A: It is 100% for real!! With that said, because you’re paying under $20 for most items, don’t expect to get Kate-Spade-quality. I typically buy from SHEIN with the idea that I will probably only wear it for one or two seasons in mind. It’s super fun to buy trendy stuff from SHEIN because you don’t have to make an investment!
Q: Is everything true to size?
A: I typically always size up when I order from SHEIN. I’ll explain more in my product reviews below, but for example, I usually wear small tops/dresses in other clothing, but I always order medium tops and dresses from SHEIN. From my experience, mediums from SHEIN always fit me like a “normal” small! I would recommend that you always size up.
Q: What are shipping and returns like?
A: Because the clothes ship internationally, it usually takes around a week-a week and a half to get your order in. One time I had an order come in close to the two week mark, so definitely plan ahead if you’re ever ordering before an event! Returning items is pretty much the same as ordering anywhere online. They have a 40 day policy – all you have to do is long in to your account and print out a shipping label!

SHEIN has a $10 dupe of it in 3 different colors!! Can’t speak to the quality or fit of the shirt, but I say it’s worth a shot for $10.
