All About Lake Pajamas

The Lake Pajamas Annual Sale is here! There are so many styles marked down up to 50% off, and I’m excited to share some of my favorites with you. I often receive questions on sizing, if certain styles shrink, and how I wash my Lake pieces. I’m going to answer all of that below, in hopes that it will help you make the best choices while shopping the sale!

Sizing:

First of all, I am a true 4/6 and usually wear a small or a medium in most things. I always buy loungewear and pajamas in a size medium, to ensure a roomy and comfy fit – I don’t like tight pajamas! For any of the Lake pima cotton short sets or pants sets, I size up from my typical medium pajamas size to a size large. The medium fits me just fine after washing, but I prefer the roomy fit of the size large. The pima cotton does shrink quite a bit (even with laying flat to dry, which I’ll detail below!) I find that sizing up still gives a comfy fit, even with shrinking.

For any of the nightgowns and robes (like my favorite cozy robe), I order my typical pajama size – a size medium. For me, those run true to size!

For any of the lounge dresses, like the patio dress (50% off right now, and another favorite!) I wear a size small. This is a very generous fit, and I would consider sizing down. If you’re in between two sizes, I would also choose the smaller size!

Washing:

For all of my Lake pieces, I wash on a hand wash or delicate cycle, on cold, and lay flat or hang to dry. The pima cotton pieces will still shrink a bit even if you wash this way! And will shrink even more if you place them in the dryer. If you plan to put your pima cotton in the dryer, I would consider sizing up 1-2 sizes. The patio dress and cozy robe do not shrink much – if any, just in length!
