Even though it’s technically engagement season, SO many people seem to have a winter weddings! Mary Catherine got married December 30th of last year, so I feel well prepared to write this post. Rudd and I actually have a wedding to go to this weekend, so I’ve had to scout out some appropriate outfits recently. Wedding attire of course always depends on the time of the ceremony (noon and 6pm are the most formal hours, 5pm means cocktail attire, and church-dressiness is appropriate for all other hours of the day, unless otherwise specified.) We are in the 4pm boat for this one, and I’m actually planning to wear this jumpsuit – it’s coming in the mail tomorrow so I’m praying that I like it!!
I thought I’d share my other top 2 options for winter weddings with you (both of the dresses I’m going to share ended up looking a little too dressy for my occasion this weekend, but would be so perfect for a 5pm, 6pm, or noon wedding!)
Bardot Lace Dress (melon) • $139
Bardot Lace Dress (black) • $139
Bardot Lace Dress (white) • $139
Kate Spade Initial Pendant Necklace • $58
BaubleBar Beaded Tassel Earrings • $38
Kelly & Katie Sandals • $49
First of all – can you spot my dog Baxter in the doorway of the second picture?? ? This dress requires a little explanation: I’m wearing it in the “melon” color in a size small which is currently in stock at Revolve, although I originally ordered it from Nordstrom. It comes in a few other colors like blue, white, beige, and black. The dress fits me well in a small (I usually wear a size 4 in dresses), but it’s definitely form-fitting! I’m 5’5″ for length reference – it hits me just below the knees but would hit directly at the knees if you’re taller. I love how you can make this dress work for almost any time of the year – I think pastels in the wintertime are so pretty.
I’m wearing mostly the same accessories in each of these looks to keep things simple, besides my pink beaded tassel earrings that I’m in love with! I really dogged out my Kelly and Katie sandals when we were in Clemson earlier this year (check out how I styled them with this romper!) I just ordered a new pair of them and will probably keep buying them over and over again until they don’t make them anymore ? They come in SO many colors and fit true to size! You could easily throw on a fur coat with this dress to stay warm – found some great styles for you here and here that are perfect for winter weddings.
Scallop Hem Lace Sheath • $95.98
Kate Spade Initial Pendant Necklace • $58
Monkey Paw Knot Gold Bangle • $146
Kelly & Katie Sandals • $49
So I added this next one onto my Nordstrom order at the veryyy last second because I wanted to have another back-up option. I LOVE this dress and I’m obsessed with the blue color – I think it would be hard to find someone that this shade doesn’t flatter. I’m also wearing this one in a size small, and again, it’s very fitted. I would size up if you’re looking for a not-so-form-fitting silhouette. I’m also wearing my Hidden Truth Jewelry Julia Blair Cross Studs in with this dress – you can get them for 15% off by using my code MARGARET15.
You could definitely throw on any other fur coat with this one too – I’ve listed more of my favorites below that would pair really well with this blue dress! I’ll keep y’all posted with how the jumpsuit I ordered turns out – fingers crossed!!
