The day has finally come! If you’ve been following along with the renovations of our 1960s home that we bought last year<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, you know that we completely gutted the kitchen! I shared my vision for the project<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and some renovation progress updates<\/a><\/strong><\/span> along the way, but now I am BEYOND excited to share the final outcome with you!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Before we get into the majority of the photos, let me remind you what the “before” looked like! Besides ripping out the cabinets, old appliances, and existing flooring, we also took out the wall the the old refrigerator used to be on! It opened the new kitchen up into what we call our “fireplace room” – I’ll share pictures of the entire space later! We’re so happy with how the hardwoods turned out. They flow so seamlessly into the other room and match the rest of the house!<\/em><\/p>\n

You might remember that I started working with Garden State Tile<\/a><\/strong><\/span> out of their Columbia, SC showroom on our renovation near the end of last year! They were so helpful in making my handmade subway tile dreams come TRUE. Also, their showroom is absolutely beautiful and I could just live there. We ended up going with their Maritime collection: 3×12 Gloss in Clearwater White<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. I’m so happy with how it turned out! I feel like it’s a really fun twist on classic subway tile, and adds a bit of interest to the room.<\/p>\n

ENCC Granite of Western North Carolina<\/a><\/strong><\/span> did our marble countertops, and we couldn’t be happier with them! Despite the pandemic and me living out of town, their team did such an amazing job. We’re so happy with our choice! If you’re local, you can’t go wrong with calling them for your next renovation project.<\/p>\n

The gold lantern pendant light<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and our new counter stools<\/a><\/strong><\/span> are some of my other favorite choices that we made! You might also recognize our gold hardware<\/a><\/strong><\/span> from this dresser that I refinished<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for our bedroom. I love that you can get the pulls in all different sizes to match your needs!<\/p>\n

This farmhouse sink<\/a><\/strong><\/span> was surprisingly difficult to find! I knew I wanted a white farmhouse sink that wasn’t “clunky,” but I also knew I wanted it to be divided. I know this is a hot debate, but I’ve always loved a divided sink so you can use one side for “drying” – I can’t stand dish drying racks on countertops! It was also a really good price<\/a><\/strong><\/span> compared to other ones we found during the renovation.<\/p>\n

I’m sure I’ll get a question or two on cabinet and wall colors! Our walls are Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray and our trim is Sherwin Williams Whitetail. Our cabinet colors are exclusive to the brand of cabinets we chose, so I can’t give you an accurate paint color for them. However, the cabinet color is very close to the SW Whitetail, which is why we chose them, and the island color is a cooler, darker version of Agreeable Gray.<\/p>\n

I couldn’t contain my excitement on these shiplap window benches in our breakfast nook any longer – I had to share with y’all! I’m still waiting on our order of window seat bench cushions to come in, so I’ll update this post when that happens. But didn’t Rudd do such an amazing job on these?! He added cabinet doors for storage underneath, too! My final favorite part of the kitchen renovation – the addition of these cabinets to create a little pantry! There wasn’t a designated pantry in the home before, and these cabinets surprisingly yield so much storage. I’m working on getting them organized inside right now, and can’t wait to share with y’all what I’m using to do that!<\/p>\n
