If you’re like me, you’re probably a little bit paler right now than you would like to be – LOL! I usually try to get a little bit of a natural base tan for the summer months, but I’m also very conscious of sun-safety, so I rely mostly on self-tanners!<\/p>\n

Before Coronavirus, I used to get spray tans semi-regularly. Now that salons have been closed for months, I’ve been working on perfecting my self-tanning routine at home! I’ve tried out a few different body-tanners and face-tanners, and have finally settled on the ones I love the most.<\/p>\n

For my body, I’ve been using the 2 Hour Express Foam from Loving Tan<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in “Dark.” I use the dark shade because I find that it looks best on my skin tone, and tends to last the longest because it’s a deeper color! For my face, I’ve been using the face lotion from Tanceuticals<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in “Dark” as well.<\/p>\n

MY TANNING SCHEDULE + PROCESS<\/h5>\n

BODY:<\/p>\n

Twice a week (usually on the same days I wash my hair) I have been applying the Loving Tan 2 Hour Express<\/a><\/strong><\/span> with this tanning<\/span> mitt<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. I shave, exfoliate, and moisturize my skin the day before I apply the foam, and follow the directions on the bottle to apply. I do 4-6 pumps of foam on each leg, and 1-2 pumps per arm just for reference. I typically wait 3-4 hours before rinsing off, (no soap!) but you only have to wait the minimum 2 hours. As long as I rinse off before sleeping, the color doesn’t rub off on sheets or clothes! It usually lasts me 3-4 days after applying. This is the BEST color I’ve found in a tanner – it has brown\/pink undertones rather than orange.<\/em><\/p>\n

FACE:<\/p>\n

The tanceuticals face lotion<\/a><\/strong><\/span> suggests that you apply it at nighttime because it takes 7-8 hours to develop, but I have a pretty extensive nighttime skincare routine<\/a><\/strong><\/span> that I don’t like to mess with. Once a week, I forgo my nighttime routine and just use the tanceuticals lotion<\/a><\/strong><\/span> with my Differin<\/strong><\/a><\/span> underneath. The rest of the week, I’ve been putting the lotion on first thing in the morning under my make-up as needed, or about every other day. This does NOT make your face super dark, which I like! I still like to be able to tweak the level of my face tan with my make up, and this let’s you do that while giving you a little glow sans-make up.<\/em><\/p>\n
