This is bound to be the first first of many “House Update” blog posts, so I’m creating a new “home” tab<\/a><\/strong><\/span> on my website that you can always refer back to in the future. If you missed it, we closed on our first house<\/a><\/strong><\/span> back in May! Before we start doing super major stuff<\/em> at the house, I wanted to be able to share a few details about the rooms we’re planning to seriously remodel!<\/p>\n

I debated whether or not to share all of our “before” photos in one post, but decided that I’ll post them as we complete each room<\/em> so you’ll be able to see the transformation! I’ve also started shopping for furniture and picking out paint colors, and want to share that with you too.<\/p>\n

\"House<\/p>\n

As far as paint, I know we’re going to use Sherwin Williams<\/a><\/strong><\/span> “Agreeable Gray,” “Sea Salt,” and “Whitetail” throughout the house. I’m still trying to decide on a color for our kitchen island! I want to go with a darker gray-blue color. Send me your suggestions! The rest of the cabinets will be white. If you missed my mini house tour on Instagram<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, we’re planning to completely GUT and re-do the existing kitchen. I’m planning to share a “kitchen inspiration” blog post next week, so hopefully that will help me figure out my vision.<\/p>\n

Along with painting, we’re replacing all of the baseboards, crown molding, and interior doors in the entire house. Hopefully that stage of the project is going to be happening in the next couple of weeks! All of the existing doors and trim have been torn out (thanks Rudd!) so we should be ready to roll pretty soon. Other than that, it’s just little things like changing hardware, putting up wallpaper, etc.!<\/p>\n

So far for the house, I’ve ordered this headboard<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in the “rice” color and these nightstands<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for our master bedroom. I have this leather couch<\/a><\/strong><\/span> on my wishlist for our living room, and am also crushing on this dining table<\/a><\/strong><\/span>! Next up, I really need to be shopping for new light fixtures. Thinking of also sharing a “house wishlist” post soon?! I have an embarrassing number of house things bookmarked right now ? My current favorite places to shop for furniture and decor are Home Goods<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Wayfair<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Joss & Main<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, Overstock<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, and Serena & Lily<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n
