Who’s ready to get a little bit scientific today? I read a lotttt of material on “blue light” during my Sophomore year of college. I had so much trouble falling asleep at night and thought that it was one of the causes! In order to be able to go to sleep, I ended up taking a melatonin supplement almost every single night. Thankfully, I phased out of that little hiccup! But now, I’m hyper-aware of the way that blue light affects me and how I can protect myself from it.<\/p>\n

For those who may not know, blue light is any light that comes out of your screens. I.E. your laptop, tablet, smartphone, smartwatch, television, etc. Read this great article from Harvard Health<\/a><\/strong><\/span> about the dark side of blue light for more information (which is much more scientific than anything I could write ?)<\/p>\n

Have you ever been laying in bed, scrolling through Instagram in the dark before you go to sleep? ??\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\u00a0Has your mind stayed wide awake once you put your phone down? That’s<\/em> the effects of blue light, friends! Or maybe you find yourself squinting at your laptop while you’re on it all day at school\/work? (That always causes me to have a headache by the end of the day!) Sometimes I even find that my eyes feel really dry or tired after staring into my screens for hours on end. None of these cases are pretty, and all of them<\/em> are annoying.<\/p>\n

I did a bunch of research<\/strong> on various blue light glasses last month to see what I could find. To be honest, most of the ones I found were not cute AT ALL ?\u00a0(or they were kind of pricey.) I discovered the pair I’m wearing<\/a><\/strong><\/span> in these photos from Amazon<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0by\u00a0Corinne McCormack for only $38! I love the tortoise frames (thought the black would be cute too) and also appreciate that the lenses aren’t super yellow-y. The ones that I ordered don’t have any magnification strength (I got the +0.00) because I don’t need it. If you wear readers, you can get them up to +2.50 magnification though!<\/p>\n

This begs the question…do they actually work? I’m on my laptop (or iPhone) for 8+ hours a day and always notice that my eyes feel really strained by the time I go to sleep. I’ve been wearing these glasses<\/a><\/strong><\/span> whenever I’m on my screens and have felt SUCH a difference! I no longer get that dull, achey headache at the end of the day and my eyes don’t feel as tired. I would 110% recommend!<\/p>\n

After I talked about these on my stories, my sister Mary Catherine<\/a><\/strong><\/span> asked me if you can order these with an eyeglasses prescription.
