For those of you who are soooo tired of gift guides<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, I hear you, but we must press on ?\u00a0This Gifts for Moms post is my last MAJOR guide of the season, other than some DIY gift posts, and maybe a last-minute gift post for all of you procrastinators. My type-A self has had a gift-giving Excel spreadsheet going since longgg before Thanksgiving and I’m honestly so proud of it. I mentioned my gift-system on Instagram stories<\/a><\/strong><\/span> a while back, so I thought I’d add a screenshot of it in this post in case you’re interested in re-creating it!<\/p>\n

I added some fake numbers just for the sake of showing you how the system works – I write down everyone who I’m buying significant gifts for in the very first column, to start. Next, I set a total budget for my Christmas shopping! (No matter if your budget is $50, or $1,000, it’s still helpful to do this!) The next step is to create individual budgets for each person you are shopping for. I like to add an “auto sum” formula in the “total budget” cell – it’s kind of like a game to see how you can move the numbers around to make them add up to the total budget! (Nerding out over here, lol.)<\/p>\n

The rest is pretty self explanatory: Jot down ideas for presents in the next column, then keep track of how much you are\u00a0actually spending<\/em> in the column after that! I also like to keep track of whether or not my shopping for each person is “complete” and if their gifts have been wrapped, but that’s totally optional.<\/p>\n

Feel free to recreate this in Excel and put your own spin on it! I’m obsessed with spreadsheets and organization<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, but what works for me might not work for you. Planners<\/h5>\n

Any mom will love a planner\/calendar from Day Designer<\/a><\/strong><\/span> or Lilly Pulitzer<\/a><\/strong><\/span>! I personally use the Day Designer<\/a><\/strong><\/span> planner (and am obsessed), but we get my mom a Lilly one<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for Christmas each year!<\/p>\n
