Soooo much has been happening with the house lately, it’s been hard to keep up with it here on the blog!! Over the weekend, I made a point to take some photos of how things are looking in our main living space and dining room so far, so that I could share them with you. If you’re new around here, definitely go back and read the posts about our home buying process, pictures of the “before” kitchen, and the progress in the bedrooms so far.
You should also know that Rudd (my fiancé) and his dad are contractors! I’m so thankful that they know how to do/are able to do all of this renovation work for us – we definitely wouldn’t have taken on as much of a fixer-upper otherwise.
I haven’t really shared any “before and afters” yet because we really don’t have any furniture, other than the bedrooms! However, I decided that it was time to start because even the new paint and trim just make the rooms look so drastically different. As I “complete” the rooms with furniture in the future, I’ll do more before and afters as well!
Walls: SW “Agreeable Grey” | Doors & Trim: SW “Whitetail”
TA-DA! This is one of my favorite little transformation corners in our mini “foyer.” This light fixture came from All Modern and is on sale for under $100 right now! We used these Schlage door knobs throughout the house, too. The front door still needs to be stained, but things are looking SO much better!
Walls: SW “Agreeable Grey” | Shiplap & Trim: SW “Whitetail”
YAY for the shiplap wall! We debated for a while whether or not to go through with it, but I think it makes the whole house seem more updated and homey! We’re planning to get a piece of furniture like this for under the TV – just happy that the cable and wifi are hooked up at this point, lol!
Walls: SW “Sea Salt” | Trim: SW “Whitetail”
And now, the dining room! This has quickly become one of my favorite spaces as well because it’s right in the heart of our house. The gold chandelier came from Amazon and is under $120! You might remember that we bought this table at Pier 1 back in the fall – we still love it and are on the hunt for some chairs and benches to go with it!
I’m sooo happy with how the wainscoting turned out too – it was fairly simple to do (Rudd says!) and I think it makes such an impact.
