I’ve been waiting to write another house update until it was time for Rudd to move in, and that day is HERE! For anyone new around here, my fiancé Rudd and I got engaged in March, bought a house in May, and are getting married in April!
We took out all of the old trim and doors at the house, so we’ve been working on re-installing those and painting since we bought the house. We are also planning to start the kitchen renovation soon, but the priority was the bedrooms and bathrooms so that Rudd could go ahead and move in!
The electrician came last Friday to install can lights and ceiling fans in the bedrooms (can anyone else NOT sleep without a fan?!) and that was the final BIG step that needed to happen before Rudd could move in! (We picked these Hunter fans and are using them on the gray-ish side and without the light kit.)
We went with Sherwin Williams “Agreeable Gray” for the bedroom walls and I’m in LOVE! We also used SW “Whitetail” for all of the new trim and interior doors.
Just in case it’s helpful to someone, I thought it would be a good idea to note that I was able to find our door hardware for SO much cheaper on Amazon than at any major hardware store! Here is the link to the ones we picked – all of our door hardware is in an “oil rubbed bronze” finish.
We got the bed set up for him yesterday (I’m not going to share pictures of the entire master bedroom until I feel like it’s semi-finished!) The dresser that I re-finished from a thrift store also fits so nicely into the room! Even better than I thought! Here’s a link to the hardware I used – the paint color is Sherwin Williams “Mindful Gray.”
For now, I WILL share the links to the headboard and the bedside tables that I picked for the master bedroom. I can’t wait for it to all come together! Next mission: Hang the curtains (shoutout to myself for buying the *correct* curtain rods at Home Depot today!) and find bedside table lamps. I really like these from Pier 1, but am worried maybe they are too small??
