Don’t get me wrong, Carolina beaches will always have my heart, but there’s something about the clear water and super white sand on the Gulf that you just can’t help but fall in love with. (Anyone else really value being able to see your feet when you’re standing in the ocean??) We spent the last week in Destin, so I’m sharing my Destin Travel Guide with you today before I forget any important details! Keep reading for info on where we stayed, where we ate, and what I wore on the trip!
Do you go to the same beach every summer? I feel like a lot of people do – I think it’s so fun to have a special place for your clan to go back to year after year! My family has gone to Destin every summer for the past 10-ish years and it’s always one of the highlights of the season. We always stay at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort which is right in the middle of everything! There’s tons of different options for places to stay within the resort.
Because I’m completely obsessed, some of you probably already read my many posts/insta stories about how much I love Stinky’s Fish Camp. (Yes, that is it’s name!!) Their slogan is, “With a name like that, it better be good.” And it is GOOD. Because Destin is so close to Louisiana, there’s an intense cajun influence on the food there. I always get the crawfish pie at Stinky’s and literally dream about it all year until I get to have my annual meal. They also have a cute little bar that is separate from the restaurant where you can listen to live music while you wait!
Earlier that day, we went to the Silver Sands Premium Outlets that are no more than a ten minute drive from the resort – we look forward to shopping there every year! I snagged some stuff at 40% off from the LOFT outlet (the sale is still going on, use code HBDUSA at checkout + read my shopping guide here!) We also stopped by J. Crew & Gap.
Mostly we hang out on the beach everyday and read books! I read The Last Mrs. Parrish while we were there this week and it was SO good! If you liked The Girl on the Train, it’s a must-read.
Just in case you missed my beach make-up guide last week, you can read about all of my favorite products here! I also did a tutorial that is linked on my Instagram story highlights.
