So many of you have asked me recently about my daily skincare routine or what skincare “line” I use. It’s probably not surprising to you that all of the products I use aren’t from the same line! I’m going to break my routine down for you today and recommend what I think works best + what you should be doing for your skin in the morning and at night. (If you can’t already tell, I am very passionate about skincare so get ready for TMI in this post.)
All of the products I’m going to tell you about today are available at Ulta! Some are available on Amazon and at drugstores as well so I’ll point that out to you along the way.
The first rule of thumb when it comes to skincare: always apply products from the lightest weight to the heaviest weight. AKA, wash your face/apply toner FIRST, then moisturize. If you do this, then you allow the products to soak into your skin the way they were intended to. To make things easier, all of the steps in my routine are numbered! There’s also a graphic at the end of the post for you to save to Pinterest so that you can reference back to it.
Some of you have asked me how to get the best deals on skincare. First of all, I suggest shopping online! If you shop through Amazon (especially if you have Prime), you can usually save a ton. Also, if you wait for online sales to happen at major stores like Ulta, you can score big too! It also doesn’t hurt to sign up for e-mail newsletters from your favorite brands – they’ll typically send out frequent coupons! I’m signed up for e-mails from Aveeno so I never miss a sale.
MY MORNING ROUTINE
1. Wash face with Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Pads
These are the best face-washing option for sleepy morning people. Just wet your face, lather up with the foaming pad, and rinse. Available at Ulta and Amazon.
2. Apply Neutrogena Fight & Fade Toner
Using a cotton pad, swipe the toner all over your face, focusing on your areas that get “shiny.” Toner closes your pores after you wash your face so that excess dirt and oil stay away! Available at Ulta and Amazon.
3. Apply Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum
Y’all know I’m obsessed with anti-aging products. My thought process is to stop the cycle before it starts! Take a small amount of this serum and spread it across your face, focusing on any areas with fine lines/wrinkles. Allow it to settle in while you brush your teeth, etc. Available at Ulta and Amazon.
4. Moisturize with Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer (with SPF!)
Not to sound like a grandma, but SPF is important if you want your skin to stay looking healthy and young. I’ve probably been using this moisturizer every single day since middle school and highly recommend. It goes on perfectly underneath make-up! I also use this as my “sunscreen” when I’m on the beach. Read more about my beach make-up here. Available at Ulta and Amazon.

MY NIGHTTIME ROUTINE
Before I share my nighttime routine, let’s clear this up once and for all: You need to take off all of your make-up at night!! Be nice to yourself and always do this! No exceptions.
1. Use Micellelar Cleansing Water to remove stubborn make-up
You could also use make-up removing wipes, but this is cheaper + healthier for you. Just dampen a cotton pad with cleansing water to gently remove eye make-up, long-lasting lipstick, etc. Available at Ulta or Amazon.
2. Wash your face with Aveeno’s Gel Cleanser
Did you know it’s important to double-cleanse your face? Even when you remove your make-up as your first step, some dirt and oil can still be left behind. Use a gentle cleanser like this one from Aveeno to make sure you’re super clean. Available at Ulta or Amazon.
3. Apply Neutrogena Toner
(This is the same as Step 2 of the morning routine.) Using a cotton pad, swipe the toner all over your face, focusing on your areas that get “shiny.” Toner closes your pores after you wash your face so that excess dirt and oil stay away! Available at Ulta and Amazon.
4. Moisturize face with Wayne Powers Vitamin C Cream
If you missed my post about Wayne Powers Apothecary last week, I talked about his Vitamin C Retinol moisturizer that I’ve been using nightly. This is different from most anti-aging retinols because it actually moisturizes your face instead of drying you out! Available on the WPA website.
5. Moisturize neck area with Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Night Cream
Sorry to tell you this, but your neck is going to get old and wrinkly someday too. In addition to staying out of the sun, I always moisturize my neck + upper chest area with this anti-aging cream at night to help slow down the inevitable! Available at Ulta and Amazon.
6. Apply Neutrogena Spot Treatment to problem areas
Even if you religiously take super great care of your skin, we all have those times of the month that wreak havoc on our skin no matter how hard we try. When something pops up, I start treating it right away with this spot treatment. Just apply a thin layer to the problem area and let it work it’s magic overnight! Use nightly until problem subsides. Available at Walgreens and Amazon.
