We had the most fabulous weekend celebrating my big sister, Mary Catherine, and her fiancé, Matt! I should get her to write a little guest post about their story in the future, but in short, they met at our rehearsal dinner last year (Matt is one of Rudd’s close friends, & was one of our groomsmen), got engaged in December of 2020, and are getting married NEXT MONTH! To say were are excited would be an extreme understatement.
My mama and I wanted to do something special for them in our hometown of Columbia, SC, so we planned and hosted a shower with the “Bubbly & Brews Before the I Do’s” theme at my parents’ house! Of course I had Kamie from Dizzy Daisy Designs create the sweetest invitations – her work is always above and beyond! (You might remember that I also worked with her to create our watercolor wedding crest and invitation suite last year.)
Mama did this adorable chalkboard sign/balloon combination out front! And I still think there’s no better wreath than this one that Rudd and I also have on our front door.
Balloons, balloons, and more balloons! I used one of these balloon strips to create this half-arch, along with this electric balloon pump which was extremely helpful. I’m in love with how this turned out in the foyer!

We had so much fun doing the food and the decorations for the evening – it makes me want to be a party planner for a living! My mom did all of the flowers, and I think she could definitely have a career as a florist if she wanted to.
