They’re calling for snow in the mountains over the next couple of days and I can’t wait! Thankfully, I have built my arsenal of outerwear up a bit since making the move from the midlands of South Carolina to western North Carolina after our wedding last summer. However, nothing stands up to the quality of or the consistency in which I wear my quilted Barbour jacket! Many of you have asked about the style I have, etc., so I thought I would address a few questions in this post.
jacket // white jeans // gold earrings // sunglasses // necklace
I have owned this Barbour Polarquilt Beadnell jacket in navy for 3 years now! It still does not show a single sign of wear and tear, so it’s definitely worth the investment for the quality. I prefer this to the waxed Barbour jackets for a couple of reasons. First, I find this one to be warmer than the waxed jackets – it’s fleece lined! I also love that it has a slightly more structured and fitted shape to it, while still being relaxed.
For sizing, I recommend sizing up one size from your typical dress size in most Barbour jackets. For reference, I wear a size US 6/UK 10. In my experience, especially with the Polarquilt Beadnell, the jackets fit true to size, but sizing up one allows for layering underneath which you’ll likely do in cold temperatures! I also must give an honorable mention to these amazing $10 gold flower earrings that you can get on Amazon! They rival the look of this much pricier pair on the Tuckernuck website, and you truly can’t tell a difference! I know I’ll be wearing them all spring and summer long.
