I re-wrote the title of this post so many times…this should actually be called “Halloween Costumes for People Who Don’t Really Care and Who Also Have No Time.” Tbh, I love costumes but Halloween always rolls around at a crazy time of the year before the major holidays start and I always end up doing something last minute. And let’s face it, it’s just less exciting when you’re an “adult.” BUT I do have a few good ideas if you have a Halloween party coming up on your calendar or if you’re just here to be entertained ?
First thing’s first, if you’ve never seen Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I need you to stop drop and roll to your nearest television. When I was brainstorming Halloween costume ideas for this post, I glanced over at my Holly Golightly sleep mask from The Sleepy Cottage on my bedside table and thought DUH. All I had to do is throw on one of my dad’s white button down shirts, my pink tassel earrings, and pink fluffy slides and I was good to go! This is a super easy DIY outfit that you can do with things you probably already have. If you’re next-level lazy or in a hurry, The Sleepy Cottage sells a Holly Golightly costume complete with everything you need. Bam.
PS – I wrote a whole post about how I made these cute painted pumpkins earlier in the week!
SOME OTHER HALLOWEEN IDEAS
1. Be a black cat
I know, don’t @ me. This is my go-to “back up costume” if I have a second Halloween party to go to, etc. and don’t feel like going to a ton of effort. Better yet, it’s a great first string costume that will take you absolutely no time at all. Wear your favorite all black outfit (black jeans, black booties, black bodysuit) and add these cutie cat ears. Bonus points if you draw “whiskers” on your cheeks with black eyeliner.
2. Grab a friend and be the dancing girls emoji ?♀️
Literally just wear black shorts, a black tank, and black ballet flats. Make bunny ears out of black card stock and attach them to a headband! Done.
3. Be a La Croix can
Yes, you will get major “white girl” jokes if this is your costume, but you will be so comfy that you won’t care. Get this $11 tie-dye dress in “multicolor” from Amazon and ask an artistic friend to write “La Croix” on it in the logo font with a black sharpie.
4. Be The Burn Book
This one is so easy it should be disqualified from being a costume. Instead of being one of the Mean Girls, just be the actual Burn Book itself. Get this light pink dress under $20 from Amazon and print out these Burn Book letters from Studio DIY. Cut them out and use some double sided tape to attach them to the dress!
