If you’ve been around for a little while, you might know that Rudd and I have been renovating our home for the past year or so! Rudd moved into the house after we bought it post-engagement in 2019, and we’ve tackled painting the entire interior, removing a wall, and a complete kitchen renovation since then. One space that was still left on our list was our little laundry room/half bath situation!
I was originally not thrilled at the set-up because it’s kind of a cross between a half bath, a laundry room, and a mud room. I was honestly not very confident that we could turn it into a space that I would enjoy, but I was so wrong! The room is right by the door to our garage, so it doubles as a mud room and laundry room now. It’s nice to have a half bath that’s easy to access when we’re working in the yard, and that we don’t mind getting a little bit messy! Before I share the details of the renovation, here are some “before” and “during the renovation” photos so you can see what we were working with:
TA-DA! We Rudd replaced the old linoleum floors with this marble tile, and updated the trim to match the rest of the house. Next, we painted the cabinets and below the chair rail Sherwin Williams “Whitetail” and replaced the hardware on the cabinets with these gold handles. We also swapped out the sink to something small that still had storage, and added this faucet.
And of course, the star of the show is the new gingham “Common Thread” wallpaper! It’s part of the Magnolia Home collection, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. (And so thankful to my Mama for helping me hang it!!)
One of my favorite touches is this monogrammed hand towel from Southern Linens that coordinates very well with my little tulip arrangement! Here’s the link to the blue and white vase, and the faux tulips. I found the white mirror at Home Goods, but this one is very similar! I also found the oil rubbed bronze hand towel ring on Amazon, and am very impressed with the quality.
