Confession: When I was in high school, I think I literally put on a whole face of make up just to go out on the beach…oh how times have changed. (Could no one have told me that was completely unnecessary?) The last thing I want to feel when I’m on the beach (or at the pool) is make up melting off of my face. I’ve narrowed down my beach make-up essentials over the past couple of years and have a few favorite products that I can’t live without on summer vacay! Think a long-lasting BB cream with SPF, the best waterproof mascara, and SPF infused lip balm.
If you want to see a tutorial on how I apply these products, head to my Instagram page and go to my story highlights – it’s listed under “beach tutorial.” A lot of you ask me questions about where I buy some of my make-up products. I love to shop at Ulta, but sometimes it’s just easier to order from Amazon if it’s a product that’s hard to find! Most of the links in this post will take you to Amazon to make it easy for you (especially if you have Amazon Prime!)

MY BEACH MAKE-UP ESSENTIALS
1. AVEENO SPF 30 MOISTURIZER
This is my all-time favorite daily moisturizer – I use it everyday before I put on my make-up! I’m listing it under my beach make-up essentials because it also has a powerful SPF 30 in it that will protect your skin from harmful rays and keep it looking young and moisturized. Apply the Aveeno lotion as step number 1 after you wash your face!
2. STILA BB CREAM
I’ve mentioned this amazing BB cream from Stila on the blog before, but it’s ideal for days in the sun. With SPF 30 + 80-minute water & sweat resistance, this lightweight cream adjusts to your natural skin tone, protects you from the sun and perfects your complexion all in one step!
3. COVERGIRL POWDER + MILANI BLUSH
Completely optional step, but I included it in the Instagram tutorial so I’m going to link these products here. I like to set my BB cream with a little bit of my loose CoverGirl powder followed by a swipe of my favorite Milani blush for a little bit of color.
4. FALSIES WATERPROOF MASCARA
The best waterproof mascara I’ve ever used? Hands down Falsies by Maybelline (and trust me, I’ve tried a ton.) This mascara doesn’t get clumpy like other waterproof versions – just make sure you have a good eye make-up remover to take it off!
5. ANTI-AGING SPF LIP BALM
Did you know your lips age, too?? It’s super important to keep SPF on them when you’re in the sun, just like you do with the rest of your body. This anti-aging lip balm with SPF 15 from Blistex is inexpensive but effective!!
